Watertown Mutual has stood at 619 Mt. Auburn Street long enough that people who first came in as teenagers now bring their own kids' cars here. We're a family-owned business in Coolidge Square, and we've never had a reason to run it any other way.
The pitch is not complicated. Come in and you'll get an honest read on what your car needs, a price you can understand, and work that holds up. If we can't do the job, we'll tell you who can. If it can wait six months, we'll tell you that too — even though telling you costs us the sale today.
A lot of drivers assume the dealership knows their car better than a neighborhood shop does. In our experience it's usually the opposite: dealers replace parts, and we find causes. If you've got a noise nobody can name, a light that comes back, or an estimate that doesn't sit right, that's exactly the work we want.

We call with what we found, what it costs, and what happens if you leave it. No work gets done that you didn't say yes to, and no line item shows up on an invoice you haven't already heard about.
You shouldn't need to know what a solenoid is to make a good decision about your own car. Ask us anything on the estimate and you'll get a real answer, not a shrug. Customers regularly tell us they left understanding their vehicle better than when they arrived — that's the point.
Walk-ins welcome. Early key drop-off from 6:00 am when the station opens. Inspections six days a week. A remodeled waiting room with free Wi-Fi, a TV, and a coffee bar — and if you'd rather not sit, all of Coolidge Square is out the front door.
We price to keep customers for twenty years, not to maximize one repair order. Cash and all major credit cards accepted, and we offer a discount for service members and veterans — just mention it when you check in.
We're not a franchise and we don't answer to a chain. We're two shops on one street, run by the same family, buying lunch from the same square you do. That's why a bad repair here isn't an abstraction — we'd see you at the bakery the next morning.
